Chicken House Days
Growing up I helped on our families chicken farm and I never liked it. Then the day came when I turned eighteen and I left home thinking I would never have to help with those dreadful chicken again. HA,HA! I have been helping out for about a month and let me tell you I know now why I will never be a poultry farmer EVER. I get up at 5:30am every morning and slowly walk up the hill to the barns and then the fun begins first I gather eggs in the first house on one side while my dad gather the other the I go over to the other house and gather the one side there while the hired hand (Charlie) gathers the other side. Then I go back to the first house again and walk the slates while my dad walks the floor. Then the whole process is repeated three more times. So for someone enjoyes sleeping until 8:00am it really is not all that fun. Hope you enjoy!
